Plasma and Laser Technology

Education: BSc in Physics with grade "very good" from Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, May 1987. MSc in Physics from Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, June 1992. PhD in Plasma and Laser spectroscopy (Three years Experimental work in Germany in the framework of the bilateral scientific channel between Egypt and Int. Bureau Julich, Deutschland) from University of Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, June 1998.

Dr. Hosam Hegazy had adequate research works in topics related to Plasma and Laser physics and its technologies. Dr. Hegazy works in different plasma experiments such as: Pinch Discharge, Glow discharge, ICP, Thermal Plasma jet, Small Tokamak and the use of Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES), Lasers, and X-ray and Ion collector in plasma diagnostics. He works in the use of plasma sources in different applications such as Synthesis of Nano-materials, Environmental Applications, Analytical use of plasmas produced in ICP-OES, Glow discharge, and by nanosecond laser "LIBS technique". His current interest is in Plasma Medicine and developments of new sources for medical applications.
The present duties include lecturing undergraduate courses in Physics (General Physics, Properties of Matter and Heat, Thermodynamics, Optics, Laser Physics, Modern Physics, Atomic Physics and Spectroscopy, Plasma Physics). Beside he is a Coordinator of Quality and Academic Accreditation ensuring compliance with the policies and regulations in Physics Department, and staff member of the Quality and Academic Accreditation Unit of the Faculty of Science. .
